Jesus said, “The Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.” He takes the initiative to seek and save his dear ones in the darkness. Ibrahim came to Christ and was discipled through the ministry of our South Sudanese partner. As he completed their eight-month discipleship/church planting course, the leaders asked, “What is your calling from God?” Without hesitation, Ibrahim replied, “I want to translate the Bible for my people!”

 

He made this statement in 2020 before we partnered with the South Sudanese team in 2021. In 2021, Ibrahim initiated the first-ever gospel translation into his heart language using unfoldingWord tools and methods. Since then, Ibrahim has shared the message of salvation with many of his people, six of whom now assist with the translation work into his heart language, and several others.
